(RRN is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization)

Recovering Racists Network is a project founded by John McKenzie as a step to help in ending racism. Among its aims are to give support to people who believe and are ready to admit that by growing up in a racist culture, there is no way they could have avoided becoming racists themselves...

RRN's Missions

To take personal responsibility for, and to inspire others to work on, healing racism and overcoming intolerance. To understand the universal causes of intolerance and develop a universal curriculum for overcoming racism and intolerance in any culture.

Objectives and Tasks

Intolerance, racism and oppression are found in some form in most cultures. We believe that: There are universal causes for this intolerance; that we can discover these causes; that we can understand and teach universal cures for intolerance that can be implemented wherever intolerance is found.

Recovering Racists Network is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. In support of these purposes, the Corporation shall:
  • Teach workshops on overcoming intolerance and healing racism wherever needed.
  • Develop an understanding of the universal causes of intolerance and explore and teach the cures.
  • Publish books and articles on healing racism and overcoming intolerance.
  • Inspire and be a part of creating an international conference on overcoming intolerance and healing racism.
  • Support others in taking personal responsibility for healing racism.
  • Constantly and honestly re-evaluate our organizational and personal processes so that we may be as prepared as possible to help others and fulfill our mission.
  • Promote non-violent communication and/or conflict resolution between disparate groups and cultures.
  • Conduct and support research in matters related to healing racism and overcoming intolerance through peaceful and non-violent means.
  • Facilitate networking between and/or with other organizations working on like causes.
